The National Hurricane Center is now monitoring the remnants of Barbara for signs of redevelopment in extreme southwestern Gulf of Mexico. While there are no immediate signs of redevelopment at the moment, some of the computer model guidance have been suggesting this system could become a relatively weak tropical cyclone within the next couple of days.

Here’s a link to the latest satellite imagery for this system.

At this time of year, the Gulf of Mexico is a primary development location, given the relatively warm waters there.
