Watching the Gulf of Mexico for Signs of Development

An area of disturbed weather in the eastern Gulf of Mexico is currently large and disorganized. Upper-level winds are not very favorable for development now, but conditions may become more conducive for development as we get close to the weekend. Currently, there is a 10% chance of this becoming a tropical cyclone in the next 48 hours.
